As
there is a multitude of household products, industrial products, and
environmental sources of poisons with each one requiring its own antidotes or
methods of inactivating/neutralizing, there is not enough room on one page to
address them all. The recommended
first aid procedure for suspected poisoning from ingesting, inhaling,
absorbing, or injecting (including animal/insect bites and stings) is as
follows:

Activate the EMS system, call for medical assistance
h
Call the local Poison Control Number - this should be posted
near the phone
h
Provide them with any information regarding substance suspected
of poisoning
h
Follow the instructions given by Poison Control
h
Monitor ABC's and provide any life sustaining measures needed
h
Await EMS
